Petrichor
The meaning
The origin of the word petrichor comes from the Greek word “petra” meaning stone and “ichor” meaning the ethereal fluid that flows through the veins of the gods in Greek mythology. It’s a fitting name, as the scent of petrichor seems to have a transcendent quality to it, making us feel as though we are being transported to a mystical world where nature reigns supreme.
The scent of petrichor is a result of a complex set of chemical reactions that occur when raindrops hit the earth’s surface. The rainwater mixes with natural oils and other organic compounds on the ground, such as bacteria and plant matter, which then release a burst of scent that drifts into the air. This scent is further enhanced by the presence of ozone, which is generated when lightning strikes the air during a storm.
About
During my recent creative endeavor, I had the pleasure of collaborating with a talented Croatian musician and entrepreneur with a passion for guitar pedal creation. As part of our collaboration, I was tasked with designing a unique and eye-catching graphic that would enhance the appeal of his handmade pedals.
Inspired by the beauty of the Croatian coastline, I created a stunning portrait that captured the essence of this region while incorporating various plants and flowers that grow along the coast. The graphic was designed to highlight the natural beauty and stunning scenery of the Croatian coastal region, while also showcasing the unique artistic talents of my collaborator.
Final result
In the end, the graphic I created added a unique and visually appealing feel to my collaborator’s pedal designs, helping to showcase the features and benefits of his products in a new and engaging way. I am proud to have been part of this project, and I look forward to working with other artists and entrepreneurs in the future to create beautiful and inspiring works that complement their artistic vision.
